I'm reviewing a separate FR10 dispatch proposal. Again, rotated cartons over gaps. This time the tool supplier wants gaps even wider. I can't accept the pattern while packaging and tooling review different drawings.

Get them on one drawing first. Could you put the actual loaded carton construction over the proposed lower layer, with the fingers drawn where they open? Cheap way to make the disagreement visible.

Done. Packaging dislikes the unsupported end of the rotated carton. Tooling says narrowing that gap traps the fingers. Both are now pointing at the same bit.

Could a different layer count or orientation leave that end supported? I'd ask before getting attached to this exact pattern, even if it loses a few cartons.

Does dispatch have a minimum quantity per pallet, or is the current count just convenient?

Not a customer requirement. Dispatch chose it from the old manual pattern. They'd consider fewer cartons, but want to know what happens to handling cost.

Then compare the lower-count option too, with packaging's support check included in the cost discussion.

And leave room for the pallet truck. We nearly blocked our own collection route making a pattern fit the footprint. Not saying yours does, just worth drawing before everyone agrees.
