Different machine from my brass-blank question: our steel-blank exchange proposal uses the other mill, but its FR10 layout has copied the first mill's opening dimensions. I've asked for a survey and the complete proposed tool. Is there any useful reason to keep comparing stand positions while those are missing, or are we just moving shapes round a picture?

You can still rule out positions that fail independently established constraints, such as occupying required setter access. Keep those reasons separate from robot clearance. An option that has not been ruled out is not yet a workable robot layout. I would label the copied machine geometry as inapplicable and keep the current candidates provisional until the actual survey and full tool are available. There is no need to discard a useful floor constraint, but there is also no basis for retaining the borrowed opening's clearance result.
