A refurbished Fairino FR10 looks tempting for our parts tray unloading setup with a machined polymer puck in a small bench assembly area. The price is attractive and the listing says 'inspected', but I haven't seen the inspection scope. What should I ask for before paying to collect it?

It would help to know whether you have a condition assessment or only a list of replaced items. What documentation has the seller supplied beyond the listing?

A replacement list. Nothing about the assemblies they left alone. Better than nothing, but 'inspected' is doing a lot of work here

Request the unit-specific inspection scope and a complete inventory of what's included. You can then make a qualified condition assessment and a demonstration relevant to your application conditions of purchase.

Sorry, basic question: doesn't refurbished mean they checked the whole thing? I'm not sure what the label promises

@FarahBrooks0852 You need the underlying scope to know what the description means here. Request the checks performed, their results and anything excluded for this particular unit.

@PriyaBrown0916 When I bought a used arm for my setup, an itemised inventory revealed that a cable we needed wasn't included. Identifying it made the extra cost straightforward to establish.

Did you ask for photos of every item? Their bundle description is mostly 'complete system', which isn't helping me much

Photos helped with mine, alongside an itemised list. Have them identify the controller, pendant, cables and included software access rather than relying on the group photo.

The replacement list helps, but the condition and package checks aren't complete. I'm keeping the offer open without committing

The replacement information adds something, but you've correctly left the commitment open while the broader checks remain incomplete.
