Our workshop inspection app sometimes misses the PLC's brief job request for a sample housing. Ownership and clearing rules are missing from the interface notes. How should we define this ordinary handshake before commissioning? The independently engineered safety functions are separate.

What does accepted mean on each side? I'd agree that before selecting signals, then define who holds the request, who acknowledges it and what clears each state. Making the pulse longer won't settle any of those disagreements.
