Fairino FR5: Can this alternating pattern support the load it arranges?

I'm reviewing an alternating layer pattern for our planned stacking packed cartons onto dispatch pallets with Fairino FR5 in a carton palletising project. Although the drawing fits the cartons neatly, a labelled dispatch carton has a preferred support direction and some rotated positions lie above gaps. I'd like a joint review of packaging support and tool access before accepting it.

@AnikaChan1117 Does your layer drawing show the load-bearing carton edges and pallet deck beneath them? Add those, then overlay the complete gripper outline.

@JoAbbott0070 My current layer drawing shows carton footprints and a tool centre point only. It hasn't incorporated the support direction specified in the carton documentation.

@AnikaChan1117 Give packaging and the integrator a drawing combining those details. A repeated unrotated layer is worth assessing alongside the alternating one because it may better suit the specified support direction.

@JoAbbott0070 Don't let simpler sound like approved. An unrotated layer still needs its load and stability assessed with the actual contents.

Agreed; i meant a comparison option. Packaging must assess both arrangements with the specified cartons and contents, including support and stability.

Doesn't alternating the carton directions strengthen a stack, or is that assumption too general here?

Too general. The arrangement changes where loads pass through the cartons. Your packaging reviewer needs the actual construction and support geometry to judge it.

I've overlaid the layers and can identify carton edges positioned above gaps. I can now show packaging the actual support condition that concerned me.

On my dispatch setup, the top view hid the pallet deck gaps completely. Adding the deck drawing changed which positions needed packaging review

@DavidBarnes0606 Did you tie the pattern to a pallet specification? Ours just says pallet size, which now seems a bit thin.

Specify the deck arrangement as well as the footprint. Two pallets with the same outside size needn't provide the same support underneath

@AnikaChan1117 For access, show the whole tool beside neighbouring cartons at the corner placements. The centre mark won't reveal body or finger overlap.

The tool outline overlaps the next carton at one corner in our offline layout. Lovely rectangles, inconvenient gripper. I'll flag that position for the integrator.

My next step is defined: combine support geometry and the complete tool in the layer drawings for packaging and integration assessment. The planning question is answered, with pattern acceptance still dependent on that review.
