What should go into the load review for Universal Robots UR5e?

I've got two tooling quotes for Universal Robots UR5e doing loading metal housings into inspection nests with a cast metal housing in a robot tooling design review. Both argue suitability from part mass alone. Our proposed fingers extend beyond the wrist, with an adapter and hose fittings too. What should I request before buying?

Do either of those quotes include an assembled mass and center of gravity? Start by listing everything attached at the wrist.

Neither does. I've got separate gripper and adapter drawings, but no combined load sheet. The fittings aren't listed at all.

Give each supplier an identical list and request the complete mass and center of gravity relative to a named origin. You'll then have a usable comparison basis.

Yes, with the axes identified too. Otherwise an offset number can look precise while describing a different point on the assembly.

@NathanBaker0460 I'd qualify 'usable': those values help compare configurations, but they don't complete the assessment against the robot's applicable inertia and moment constraints.

Agreed, I meant the comparison basis. Your integrator still needs the complete load assessed against the applicable documentation, including moment and inertia constraints.

@NathanBaker0460 Can I keep loaded and empty configurations on the same sheet? I'd rather not create two drawings that drift apart.

Yes, if each configuration is clearly labeled and tied to its own values. Show where your part sits rather than just adding its mass.

On my setup, the adapter was buried in a tooling drawing and absent from purchasing's sheet. Both sheets looked complete on their own.
