FR5 carton bearing strips over withdrawal channels

Our packed cartons have two bearing strips underneath, and the proposed turned row puts one over a tool channel. The overall footprint still looks tidy. I have asked packaging and tooling to judge the same loaded section, since neither top view tells me whether this arrangement is worth keeping.

Include the layer underneath and the moment the fingers leave, otherwise everyone can approve a different picture of the same box.

That combined view confirms the unsupported strip during withdrawal. Packaging rejected the turned row; tooling is costing a straight arrangement instead.

Before the smaller count gives purchasing a fright, run a couple of actual orders through it. We had a pattern that looked wasteful per pallet but didn't add an exchange on the jobs we really shipped, only on somebody's imaginary endless order.

Did straight rows preserve the withdrawal space, Oliver? Turning everything back can move the problem to the last box.

Yes, packaging and tooling accepted the support and complete placement sequence, including the last box. Jane, our usual orders also finish on the same number of pallets with either count. One larger order needs an extra pallet.

That sounds less dramatic than the headline loss of boxes. Still price the larger order honestly, especially if it's the one that arrives when everybody is already busy.

Did you keep straight rows, or did that larger order swing it back to a new tooling proposal?

We kept straight rows and accepted the extra pallet on that order. The packer completed the proposed exchange walkthrough without moving the label bench, and purchasing has the revised count and handling allowance. That settles our pattern choice, thanks Jane.
