Why is the air fitting missing from every reach check?

Thank you. The fitting is on the side facing the door frame at entry, so this isn't a small detail hidden behind the wrist. I can provide the fitting drawing; the hose shape is less fixed.

Ask who owns the hose routing, otherwise the robot supplier and toolmaker can each assume the other has left enough room.

Apparently we do, although nobody told stores that when the gripper was ordered. Our maintenance fitter will sit in on the review now; he has to replace the thing later anyway.

He'll probably want room for the spanner too (our first layout forgot servicing entirely).

Fair point, I've called it an access problem when the evidence so far is an incomplete access check.

Can the fitter get you an actual assembled outline?

He brought the gripper over with the intended fittings. We photographed it square to the mounting face against a scale, but there is no arm here yet, so I cannot honestly report a collision.

Our hose snag appeared only on retreat. Ask for the exit movement as well.

And ask for the jaw-open version on that exit, since a nice narrow approach can become quite a different shape after release.

The revised review now includes open jaws and the fitted elbow. Their first suggested retreat brings the fitting close to the frame; they are looking at another tool orientation, which still needs checking through the whole movement.

Get the allowed hose bend and routing into that review before accepting the new orientation, or the fitting clears while the hose pays for it.

Has anyone checked replacement access in that orientation?

The fitter says replacement access looks worse. We have postponed the base drawing approval while the toolmaker considers a different connection arrangement. Annoying, but at least the discussion finally contains the actual bits we bought.

Worth keeping that assembled photo with the accepted drawing later, so the next replacement doesn't quietly restore the old fitting arrangement.
