Found something odd in the folder for our FR5 welding proposal. The photo labelled final inspection shows the bracket clamped down. The loose bracket in the next photo has a handwritten arrow beside one mounting foot. No reading beside it.
We were about to copy that fixture with another clamp added. I can measure parts. I can't tell from these pictures what the old team actually accepted. Has anyone untangled a job like this without building the old problem again?
Find one bracket with its own sheet before buying more clamps. A folder full of ticks can hide several different measuring setups. Can you identify the piece in either photo?
Alex, a former inspector signed them. I've asked for contact through the workshop. Amy, neither photo shows a part number. There are three retained brackets but I can't pair them with sheets yet.
Good, leave the arrow out of the argument then. You still need to know how they supported the loose part for measurement. More restraint isn't an answer to an unknown setup.
Former inspector replied. They checked foot height after unclamping, on a plate with three specified supports. The photo was taken during fit-up. The arrow marked the measuring foot, Ada was right about that possibility.
Still another wrinkle. Current drawing is D. One mounting foot changed width. We're checking whether that affects where the inspection supports go. Extra clamp proposal is parked.
Have you got an actual D bracket? I'd start there with whoever owns inspection. The old support sketch may be useful, but don't quietly turn it into the new method.
Henry, they remember some pieces going back to fabrication, but couldn't say which. Amy, yes, we have a D first-off. Inspection is working out its support points before measuring it.
