Checked the delivered FR10 package and the installed cable is there, but the additional cable in the promised spare kit isn't; nine days of next shipment and still nothing I can give the maintainer as a dispatch reference

Has anything concrete arrived since you posted, Darcy? If not, ask for separate fulfilment against the missing spare line and whether the kit is actually ready to pack. No need to turn this into another equipment order just to get a cable you already agreed to buy.
