The housing used to sit square in our FR5 fingers. Now it leans, although the tray has not visibly moved. Which physical contact should maintenance inspect before another pickup correction?
Watch where the lean begins in the existing footage, then have maintenance check the locating and gripping contacts against the intended assembly, because a housing already tilted in its pocket needs a different explanation from one rolled by the fingers.
Only some in the retained footage. Maintenance has kept the tray and affected housings together for comparison. I do not know whether those housings are from one delivery.
Compare the high corner with the pocket's intended support and clearance, including the actual housing shape there (not only its overall width), before deciding that the pocket itself has moved.
A static seating check with those identified samples sounds cheaper than more teaching. Can quality tell you whether the awkward ones meet the housing drawing?
And keep an accepted sample that seats normally beside them, Will, so a tooling change is checked against both ends of the problem rather than made to suit one troublesome housing.
Quality says the affected housings meet the current drawing. Tooling found their larger permitted corner radius touching the pocket before the base reaches its supports. The normally seated samples have a smaller radius.
Robin, that is why I'd ask the designer for clearance at that corner, not simply a bigger pocket everywhere. The locating contacts still have work to do.
Designer has specified local relief while retaining the intended locating faces. Thank you, Anna, the first sketch I was sent did enlarge the whole pocket. Replacement insert is being made to the corrected drawing.
Has the replacement been checked with the permitted housing range yet, and have the accumulated pickup edits been reviewed for the return checks? I would like to hear whether it actually fixes the seating, not only whether the new corner looks generous.
