I can't pick a robot from these two demos. The FR5 unloaded bearing sleeves into our shallow return tray, where they can lean against the dividers. The other candidate used a deep pocket tray and looked lovely. Conveniently lovely.
Our buyer wants my preference, but I'd rather compare two usable packages. Do I insist both use our old tray, or let both propose a new one and price the extra kit?
Let both propose a new tray, provided you also ask how it will fit the work before and after the robot; preserving an awkward old tray is not necessarily a fair objective.
Did the FR5 actually misplace a sleeve, Daniel, or did you only observe leaning after placement? That distinction affects what you ask the suppliers to improve.
We had tilted parts that looked untidy but caused no trouble downstream. Then changed a tray and created a real picking problem. Does inspection need your sleeves upright, Daniel, or simply separate and easy to lift?
I would also want to see your setter change the tray format. A package can look straightforward while the supplier is standing there choosing every setting.
An inspection operator could review the proposed pocket shape before a full tray is made. A sample section would let them try removing the sleeves. It would not establish the robot's placement performance, but it could reject an awkward design cheaply.
Who washes and replaces these trays? Our spare set was omitted from a proposal, then a damaged tray would have left the station waiting while someone tried to repair it. Include spare provision in the new-tray price.
Will, inspection doesn't need them upright. Jane, our inspector tried the supplier's pocket sample and found removal fiddly with gloves. Thanks for suggesting that before we ordered a whole tray. We've asked for a shallower alternative.

Will the next demonstration use the same sleeves and loading pattern for both candidates? The tray options can differ, but those starting conditions should be explicit.
And keep the original FR5 result in your write-up, with the leaning described accurately; the new offer shouldn't quietly erase a trial that did place every sleeve in its compartment.
