How do we trace the FR10 read our training laptop cannot complete?

One laptop has completed our documented read-only availability check; the workshop one times out and only sometimes answers ping. The working network notes are incomplete. What comparison would separate destination, route and service before anyone changes controller settings?

I'd arrange the comparison with the network owner and both laptops available, because whatever you discover needs to become a supported setup the instructors can reproduce after the borrowed machine leaves.

Both machines are available this week. I have asked the network owner to join us, but I don't yet have evidence of which adapter each normal launch uses.

Start with what those launches actually target, not only the address somebody wrote in the handover; two machines can run a file with the same name while selecting different configuration, so a working laptop isn't automatically a verdict on the script.

And use the instructor's normal account. We once demonstrated a working diagnostic as an administrator, then returned a perfectly impressive failure to the person teaching the next class.

Aisha, did that turn out to be permissions or a different environment? We have had both described simply as the account problem.

Different environment in our case. That is why I would record the interpreter and loaded configuration, not assume that changing account means somebody needs more permission.

Keep ping and the service read as separate observations with their destinations and times. Ping can be useful, but it does not establish that the requested diagnostic service is responding on the intended controller.

Martin, that separation would help me read the report too. Otherwise connected gets used for the cable, ping and a successful application reply, and everyone thinks the other two have already been proved.

Who retains the resulting configuration after the comparison? A working borrowed laptop is not a maintenance plan

Our network lead will retain the network notes and the application maintainer the launch configuration. Comparison found both target the same controller address, but the workshop route selects another adapter.

Has that route difference been tested as the cause, or only identified?

Caleb's distinction matters. Different isn't necessarily wrong, and I'd let the network owner establish the intended route rather than disable adapters until the screen happens to change.

Only identified so far. The network owner is checking the approved route; no controller change or adapter disabling done from our side.

When the comparison is ready, have the instructor launch it the usual way. That's the result I'd want before using the revised notes for teaching.

And leave the old unsuccessful result in the history with its route details. A corrected setup doesn't make the original symptom imaginary; it gives support a better way to distinguish it.

Network owner corrected the laptop route within the approved setup. The instructor's normal launch now completes the read in our comparison. Intermittent ping history still has no complete explanation.

Useful result. Are the two owners' handover notes complete now?
