I'm sorting the old gusseted-bracket paperwork for a proposed UR5e welding cell. There are plenty of ticks for the part in the jig, then a note saying straighten before inspection. No dimensions between those two stages.
I want the quote to include the work we actually need, but I cannot tell whether the jig was locating the parts badly or the bracket changed after welding. Where would you start with these notes?
Not in this folder. The final inspection results have batch numbers, while the jig checks only name the shift. I have asked the former supervisor for the missing sheets.
A note says press gusset home, but no measurement or photograph. The supervisor remembers occasional gaps and cannot say which batches. Useful lead, no way to connect it to these final results.
Check whether the jig itself changed between the batches, Henry. Our stores cards sometimes have the replacement stop drawing attached even when the production sheet just says same fixture. It is worth asking before everyone treats years of paperwork as one setup.
And leave time for correction visible in the quote discussion. It might disappear with the new process, but somebody needs to explain that before your staffing plan assumes it has.
I would ask for a fresh sample plan if the old stages cannot be linked. Incoming fit-up, in-fixture condition and released dimensions on the same identified pieces. The welding specialist needs to choose the process trial, not a guess from the ticks.
Revision D for the final sheets. The jig card points to revision C, and stores has a later stop drawing attached as Isaac suggested. I have sent both to engineering to establish what was actually fitted.
Glad the card helped. Does it give a fitting date for the later stops, or is it only a drawing tucked into the sleeve? Ours have managed both kinds of filing.
Only the drawing, Isaac. No fitting date. Noah, the estimator is retaining a correction allowance while the welding specialist and inspection agree the fresh trial. We are not treating it as a robot setting to copy.
Engineering could identify the current stops but not when they were fitted. The old sheets will stay as background. We now have a proposed sample plan linking fit-up, restraint and released checks on the same pieces; no trial results yet.
