Our workshop laptop sometimes pings the FR5 but times out reading status. What should I record from the working laptop?

Record the physical connection, active adapter, addresses, routes and exact read-only request on both. Include any dock or VPN. The second laptop only gives you a useful comparison once you know how it actually connected.
