The tray looks fixed, but the grip looks crooked (Fairino FR10)

We keep nudging pickup points when our Fairino FR10 setup gets unreliable at fixture-to-tray transfer with a molded plastic sleeve in a small assembly handling cell. The tray looks like it's in the same place, but the grip seems less square. I'm suspicious of all these tweaks. What should I inspect before blaming the arm or reteaching everything?

Look at the relationship between the workpiece and fixture before contact, then during gripping. Can your existing observations show when the change in angle begins?

In the footage, it sits consistently in the checked fixture and turns during gripping. So the crooked position isn't there at the start.

Keep a copy of the current configuration and hold off on further coordinate changes. Under the appropriate isolation procedure, maintenance can use the observed rotation to focus inspection on tooling contact, mounting and tray seating.

The maintenance notes show contact pads were replaced before the first point adjustment. That's the first useful clue I've found in the history.

The timing suggests the replacement is responsible. I'd check whether the pads were installed in the specified configuration.

Timing isn't enough to call it the cause. Check the pads, yes, but don't let one maintenance entry explain away fixture variation.

Agreed, I called it too early. Treat the replacement as a lead; verify installation and contact condition alongside tray location before assigning the cause.

My separate handling setup had both worn gripping surfaces and variation in tray seating. Coordinate corrections alone gave inconsistent results because they didn't address either underlying condition.

For my setup, a documented reference configuration anchored the investigation while maintenance assessed individual conditions. Discovering wear didn't mean we automatically restored older pickup coordinates.

Only if they match the verified setup. Tooling, frames or presentation may have changed; your responsible technician should compare the configuration before any supervised validation.

I can see the angle change during gripping, but I don't have an accepted correction yet. The point tweaks are paused while the inspection work continues.

@AdaAbbott0042 Knowing that the angle changes during gripping helps focus the work, but it doesn't by itself establish an accepted correction.
