Sofia, that is also where I'd involve whoever covers the setter. Our laboratory layouts used to rely on one person knowing which loose items could be moved, until the covering person quite reasonably left them where the drawing put them.

I'd keep manual tending in the comparison too. Not as a punishment for a bad drawing, just because a supervised small-batch job may lose its advantage once every fixture change needs a separate moving-and-checking task.
