Rotated carton supports over empty space in the FR10 pattern

I am reviewing our alternating pallet layers. The cartons fit, but their preferred support areas bridge gaps in rotated positions. Which combined packaging and tool-access evidence should I request before accepting that arrangement?

Can you mark the actual support regions on the two layers, with the gripper open at release, so packaging and tooling can argue about the same gaps instead of sending you two individually tidy pictures?

I have marked the support regions. Tooling has only supplied the closed-gripper view so far. Packaging wants filled examples before commenting on the rotated positions.

Include the pallet and any proposed layer sheet in that comparison as well. The support of the full arrangement may differ from two layers drawn in isolation, particularly if a sheet is being counted on to span gaps.

No layer sheet proposed at present. I have added the actual pallet and requested the release view. An alternative pattern is also available for packaging to compare.

What changed in the alternative, Hana? Fewer cartons, different orientation or different spacing? Those would give the tool supplier quite different questions.

Fewer cartons with different spacing. Packaging is assessing filled samples. Tool supplier still needs to check the revised release and withdrawal, so neither pattern is accepted yet.

Keep that lower carton count in the production comparison while the reviews proceed. It may be a worthwhile compromise, but the original throughput figure should not survive unchanged simply because the robot model stayed the same.
