different fr5 fingers delivered against our sample trial

Our FR5 arrived with different gripper fingers from the confirmed molded-housing sorting trial; 22 days into asking the unnamed Chinese seller why equivalent has no sample evidence behind it, and I've kept installation and the tooling review paused.

What differs in the supplied fingers, and can you link the original trial to its finger reference? Equivalent needs to address the actual housing and nest, not just whether both sets attach to the gripper.

Did they test the supplied set at all, Nina Barnes, or send a description of what it should do?

Nina Ali, the supplied fingers have longer lower contact lips and a different reference from the trial drawing; Naomi, no trial with these, only the claim, and the longer lips occupy the nest rim space in the combined drawing.

You can allow a properly scoped alternative assessment without accepting the substitution. I would want it to cover your housing range and existing nest, including release, with responsibility and cost agreed before further work.

The original trial cannot establish that longer lips release into the nest. Keep that evidence limited to the identified original fingers

Can they still supply the confirmed set? Worth asking before funding a new assessment.

Elena, I'd put the commercial question beside that permission. Nina can consider an alternative, but she shouldn't accidentally commission development simply by asking the seller to substantiate what they've already supplied.

Our separate supplier and controls handovers once left the complete-tool problem ownerless, so I would name who owns this remedy rather than accept two people each agreeing to look at their bit.

Oscar, the confirmed fingers can be remade in roughly ten days; the seller instead proposes changing our nest rim for these fingers, and Peter, our integrator will own the application check but hasn't accepted that alteration.

Changing the nest is a different proposal, not a demonstration of equivalence. It might be worth considering on its merits, but the seller should explain the full consequences and cost rather than treat your workshop as the missing half of their supplied kit.

Steven, agreed, particularly if the nest serves other jobs. I would ask what relies on that rim before anyone calls its removal minor. A small feature can have a much larger audience than the gripper drawing suggests.

Is that an existing shared nest, Nina, or tooling still being designed? That would change how I'd compare the two remedies.

Felix and Zara, it's an existing nest used in manual assembly as well; we're retaining it and asking for the confirmed fingers, because we haven't agreed to redesign the shared work around this substitution.

Then get the remake tied to the confirmed drawing and included components, with carriage addressed. That makes the remedy specific without asking you to argue that every possible alternative finger would fail.

Seller has accepted the remake against the trial drawing, including fixings and carriage, at no additional charge; the integrator has the reference and will check the delivered set before the agreed sample comparison.

Keep the fixing identification in receiving too. In my stores experience, loose bits are very good at losing their paperwork between the box and the bench.

And confirm the assembled condition for the sample check. Matching the original drawing on receipt is useful, but the handover should still say what was actually checked on your delivered setup.

Remade fingers received with the specified fixing pack, dimensions checked against the confirmed drawing, then fitted by our responsible team; the supervised comparison handled and released the agreed housing samples into the existing nest without the substituted lips' interference, and the check record identifies this assembly.

That supports the agreed sample remedy. It does not validate the substituted set, which should remain separately identified rather than enter normal spare stock

Substituted set is segregated for the seller's arranged return, and the remade-set check and updated parts list are in handover; we've closed the supply discrepancy against that remedy, with no nest alteration and no claim for housing variants outside the agreed samples.
