I'm integrating an FR10 presentation station for stainless trim. Our sample folder labels a bright line as a scratch even when the line changes position between views of the same part. Nobody can link that label to a physical inspection result. I want to settle the reference set before commissioning turns into threshold chasing.
Quarantine the uncertain labels. Pair physical sample identities with agreed inspection outcomes, then study presentation and lighting on those samples. The image filename is not an acceptance authority.
Quality found that two images labelled as different rejects were the same trim piece under different lights. They've rebuilt the sample list with accepted, rejected and uncertain outcomes. We can now compare imaging without inheriting those contradictory labels.
Include the uncertainty reason too. 'Uncertain because inspection disagrees' and 'uncertain because the image cannot be linked to a part' need different follow-up work.
