Our finished collars show pad contact bands. Supplier proposes softer pads before we have an agreed appearance check.

Get the actual marks judged first. Softer is not an acceptance criterion.

Quality has the identified collars now. I kept unannotated photographs as well as the marked-up copies.

Were the bands present before handling? Worth comparing the arrival condition with the handled samples before the new pad gets blamed or praised for everything you can see.

No matched before photographs. We need another identified set for that comparison.

Include holding and clean release in the pad trial. Appearance alone won't choose it.

And use the agreed viewing conditions on both sets. Otherwise a more flattering photograph could win the pad comparison while the actual marks remain the same.
