Our FR5 carton pattern leaves a gap for the fingers to withdraw. In the next layer, a carton's reinforced base strip lands over that gap. I have asked packaging and the tool supplier to review a filled stack together. What should the drawings show beyond the tidy top view?
Show the section through that strip and the tool as it opens and leaves, plus the actual pallet underneath. I'd also draw the partial last layer; everybody loves showing a complete stack and then acts surprised when the order doesn't divide neatly.
Thank you for the partial-layer reminder. I raised that on another review and still left it out of my own pack. Added it here, with a section through the unsupported strip.
Packaging says the proposed gap is not acceptable under that strip. We have two revised patterns to compare with tooling. Neither has been trialled yet.
