My sleeve-blank handshake plan has two meanings of ready: machine supplier says request received, integrator says area available. How do I get both meanings owned and agreed?

Can both suppliers walk through request received while preparation is still incomplete? Write the producer, consumer and allowed inference for each condition. That example should expose why one shared word is not enough.

Give one person the shared document. Two signed descriptions can still leave you with two meanings at handover.

What happens if preparation never completes after receipt?

Keep ordinary sequence availability distinct from the independently assessed safety permissions. Both suppliers can agree that an area is ready for the next ordinary step without that phrase becoming authority to bypass the cell's protections.

Integrator owns the common draft. Receipt and availability are separate now; failure to become available still lacks an agreed response.

Does that missing response have a named deciding party and retained request state, or merely a timeout number? The latter won't explain what either side should do after the wait ends.

And don't price the handover as finished because the two normal labels are clearer. That unresolved exception is precisely what reaches maintenance later.

Only a suggested timeout so far. I have asked both owners to specify withdrawal, late availability and restart with that request unresolved.

Will the operator see which of those conditions holds, rather than another generic waiting message?

Display meanings are included in the request. No agreed exception lifecycle back yet, so planning remains open beyond the normal receipt-and-availability sequence.

Retain the received-but-unavailable paper example with that open item. It stops a clean normal demonstration later being used to claim that the unresolved waiting and recovery decisions were covered too.
