Our UR5e shell-handling package arrived with flat pads where the agreed trial had shaped fingers. Seller calls them equivalent. No demonstration with our shells, no explanation of the changed contact. Tooling stays on the bench. What should their comparison actually answer?
What difference can you identify from the drawings and samples now? I'd send that specific question with the trial record, rather than let equivalent cover every detail they don't want to discuss.
Trial fingers located around a flange. Delivered pads contact the outside walls. We have drawings for both now, and those are plainly different contact arrangements.
Have you observed the delivered pads holding a shell, or is the comparison still on the bench drawings? I would distinguish the changed geometry from any behaviour that has actually been tested.
Drawings and static inspection only. No handling trial with the supplied set. I've avoided calling it slipping or damaging anything because we haven't observed either.
Ask them to assess holding, release and appearance with your actual shell range, using the delivered arrangement. The changed contact also needs checking against the intended loading path.
Did the original demonstration include release into your receiving fixture, or only lifting a shell? That affects which parts of the evidence can still be useful even for the original fingers.
Original trial included our receiving nest and release. New video is an empty-pad cycle. I asked for the same task with samples, not a tour of the jaws opening.
Why did they change them? I'd still ask. If the trial set can't be supplied, that matters before you spend time comparing a return to something unavailable.
They say the shaped set was borrowed for the demonstration. It was also in the confirmed tooling description. Asked whether they'll supply that set or propose a reviewed alternative at their cost.
Has the tool reviewer identified any loading-path consequence of the flat pads yet? I would send that with the sample trial request so the next video answers the actual access question.
And make sure the proposed option includes replacement-pad identification and its drawing. You will need to preserve the accepted contact arrangement during maintenance, whichever option is eventually chosen.
