I'm stopping this UR5e layer drawing going into the quote as an agreed pattern. The rotated cartons straddle a gap right under the bottom seam. Our packaging contact says the support direction matters; the integrator has drawn boxes as solid blocks. Can we settle anything useful with packed samples before another layout meeting?
Imran, currently the packer turns it. Elliot, a straight layer loses two cartons here. That sounds expensive until I look at the time we're spending defending the rotated one.
Elliot's alternative is worth putting alongside it, but don't assume the straight layer is supported properly either. Same packed samples, both patterns.
David, warehouse only needs one label visible from the aisle; they don't require every label outside. Packaging brought packed samples. The straight layer puts the carton seams over a carton below, while the rotated drawing leaves one hanging over the gap. They're taking both away for their load check.
Only cartons at that visit. The integrator has since added the proposed tool body and its withdrawal to both layouts. The straight option has room in that model; the rotated option needs a different approach as well as packaging work. We've dropped it from this purchase comparison.
Packaging has now accepted the straight arrangement for the packed carton we supplied, with their specified layer limit. I've put that exact carton version in the quote request. Tool access still has to be demonstrated, but we're no longer asking suppliers to rescue the other pattern. Thanks for making me price the boring option, Elliot.
