Ask them to acknowledge the additional cable against its spare-kit line and give a separate supply answer. Is this contingency stock, or does an agreed maintenance activity need it? That helps you compare delivery options without confusing the missing spare with the installed cable.

Contingency stock. They have now acknowledged the additional quantity, but still say next shipment without saying it is available. I've asked for a stock answer before we discuss a route

That is the remaining question, then. Tell whoever owns the spares list it is acknowledged but not on hand; the sample-tray planning should not assume a spare exists simply because the main delivery is complete.
