Our maintenance laptop sometimes gets a ping reply but times out on the documented read-only FR5 check. A visitor's laptop worked, although the notes do not say which adapter or endpoint it used. I want to compare the actual setups before anyone changes the controller because my laptop is having a bad day.
Get the working laptop's actual connection details and imported software path. A remembered successful check is hard to compare with your current timeout.
IT found the difference in the launch shortcut. Our laptop was reading an old endpoint file; the visitor's used the maintained one. After IT corrected that path, the documented read-only check returned the intended controller identity repeatedly through the normal shortcut.
