The FR5 vacuum demonstration avoids the seam on our actual carton

The demonstration carton has a smooth lid and no seam beneath the cups; ours has printed board and a taped join across the proposed pickup area. I would like the supplier to assess our packed cartons before that convenient demonstration becomes the acceptance evidence.

Send representative packed cartons with their actual seams, printing and board variation, and ask for pickup, transfer and release assessed with the proposed tooling, not just a static hold

They propose shifting the cups clear of the tape. The carton is still the smooth demonstration sample in that sketch; I have asked for the actual pickup area on our carton.

Who applies the tape in your process? If the position moves between packed cartons, a drawing that just misses one neat seam might be solving a sample rather than the job.

We included normal packing variation in our sample selection, because the specially prepared box was easier to pick than anything the packing bench actually supplied

Rachel's tape question belongs in the sample brief, with the relevant mass and surface range; the supplier needs to assess the actual variation rather than ask you to make every carton resemble its favourite.

Tape is applied at our packing bench and its placement varies. We have retained packed examples across that normal variation. No agreement to change the packing method merely to match the first cup sketch.

And if changing the packing method becomes a serious option, price it openly. We added a small preparation step to help a tool once; small became rather noticeable over a whole order.

Does the receiving position constrain where the carton can be held, Bruno? Moving cups away from the tape may affect more than the pickup view

Yes, it must release into our guided receiving position. The revised proposal needs to show that with our cartons too. Supplier has the samples; no full-transfer comparison returned yet.

Include loss-of-grip detection and the assessed response in the tooling review, alongside maintenance and replacement information; successful sample pickups alone won't define a usable handover.
