Has quality looked at the plate again, not just the later picture? It might no longer be your accepted reference.
Our FR10 trim reference gained a line during the bench comparison

Not since the comparison started. The plate identity is unchanged and we have the earlier images, but several people loaded it.
0 pointsPut it aside for that check before more handling, and keep the image order; otherwise another loading could move the question again.
14 pointsWho kept the holder setup for each image, because the sample identity alone will not tell you whether the bright line moved with a different seat?
15 pointsCamera operator kept the setups. The new line appears after a reload, but that alone does not say what happened to the surface.
16 pointsGet the surface checked first, because you could spend the whole meeting debating lighting around a scratch somebody added while moving the sample.
1 pointsAnd include a known reject when you repeat it. Our faint reject nearly disappeared in a view that made the accepted part look lovely.
11 pointsQuality found a fresh scuff. Earlier physical judgement predates it. We have withdrawn this plate as an unchanged accepted reference; the later images show a different surface condition.
-2 pointsDo you know what contacted that area during loading, or is the cause still unknown?
3 pointsStill unknown. There is a bare retaining clip near that area, but maintenance has not established contact. I do not want to blame it from proximity.
13 pointsThen don't quietly replace the clip and call the cause found; can the team account for the actual loading contacts on a bench check?
6 pointsAnikaBrooks, agreed on the cause, but I'd still stop using that arrangement for the new reference until they've checked it. No point scratching another good plate to maintain an open mind.
7 pointsBoth fit: hold the setup and investigate, without writing a confirmed cause you don't have.
8 pointsThat is what we are doing. New physical references are with quality. The holder is out of the comparison while maintenance checks loading contact; no threshold changes from the mixed before-and-after images.
1 pointsKeep the earlier accepted judgement with its original images rather than deleting it, since it explains why the plate entered the reference set and when that status stopped being reliable.
