Trying to make room for a small-batch handling trial and the robot isn't the only thing wanting floor space. Where do you keep the bits for the next job, without turning the cell into a cupboard?

I'd try a job kit in stores first. Mark its return spot as well as its contents. Otherwise the next changeover starts with a hunt for one decent spacer.

Still tempted by keeping the next job nearby; a tidy kit in stores doesn't shorten the walk. Perhaps I'm asking the trolley to solve a scheduling problem

One next-job kit nearby sounds different from storing every fixture there. I'd draw that smaller requirement first. You still need somewhere agreed for the outgoing kit.
