Our UR5e packing trial transfers the hardware bags reliably when I arrange them in rows. Unfortunately, arranging them is now my main job. A new bag size also means another insert for the presentation tray.
I've put a lot into the operator instructions and I don't want to defend a poor process just because they're finished. How have others decided when to stop a trial?
Only the transfer was in the original chart. I timed the whole job yesterday, including refilling the tray, and manual packing was quicker for the mixed order. That changes the discussion considerably.
We tried that run. The operator liked having fewer repeated reaches, but the time saving was small once replenishment was included. I would keep that benefit visible without calling it a productivity win.
A narrow use may still be worthwhile. Which task did the operator actually find easier: collecting the bags, placing them, or maintaining the pace? Those are different reasons to retain equipment.
