I am comparing an FR10 with other sorted-tray loading candidates, but the sleeve videos start from different tray conditions, one tidy and one our awkward workshop tray; both look promising, and I need a comparison whose setup and support work can survive handover rather than a winner chosen from the smoother clip.
Ask for the same incoming sleeve and tray conditions and the same delivered result. Keep a proposed tidy-tray method as a separate option, though; it might be useful if its preparation and changeover work are explicit rather than magically free.
I've sent a shared brief using our incoming tray, with any tray-change proposal costed separately and the required final arrangement stated; neither existing clip is being treated as a direct comparison now.
Has either supplier answered with more than we'll demonstrate it? I'd want the planned preparation and the person doing it named before another visit, otherwise you can watch the same mismatch with a newer date on the video.
Also let them state exclusions. A candidate that handles a defined subset honestly may be worth considering, but you need to know what happens to the remaining work before ranking its whole-job cost.
One supplier proposes our trays directly; the other proposes a preparation fixture with operator loading, and both have stated what they will demonstrate, but no comparable results have returned yet.
Keep the operator-loaded option's changeover and waiting time in the eventual result. It isn't disqualified for needing preparation, but the preparation is part of what you're buying into.
