Cannot order spacer-tool spares while the pickup keeps changing

I am trying to stock the parts for our UR5e spacer tool and keep finding a different version in use. The handover drawing shows one pad arrangement, the cupboard has two bags with the same description, and the setup folder contains several pickup corrections. Meanwhile the block is leaving the tray at an angle. Before I order another bag of something, can we establish whether the current contacts and tray seating match the intended setup, and who should own that comparison? Stores cannot repair this by making the cupboard fuller.

Who supplied the last pad set? Start with their actual item reference, not the cupboard description.

Same tooling supplier for both bags, Grace, and the labels share one description but have different drawing suffixes

Check the tray contacts as well. You can compare what is fitted against drawings before committing to replacement parts, with maintenance doing the physical inspection.

Then don't merge those bags in stores. Ask the supplier what changed between suffixes.

We found the problem behind a pad on our FR10 puck tool. The front looked like the bit worth staring at. It wasn't the whole assembly. Our bench comparison improved after that was corrected; I still wouldn't use that as a diagnosis of your UR5e.

Can your technician distinguish a block already tilted in the tray from one that tilts as the fingers close? It gives the comparison an order, even if both the pad bags need identifying.

Julia, did your program corrections also need reviewing after the pad work?

Yes, that was still part of our cell check after the bench result. Square against a sample does not tell you what a previously shifted pickup point will do.

Isabel, maintenance found the block sits tilted before grip, against one tray support rail; Will, they're comparing that rail and its mounting, while the pad-suffix question stays separate

Is the rail itself identified? Would be irritating to buy the right pads and then guess at that.

Louis, that's a useful distinction. A support issue can explain the initial tilt without settling whether both pad versions are suitable. Don't let the first finding quietly approve the rest of the assembly.

Grace, I would ask maintenance to check what is under the rail before pricing a new one. The mounting may explain the angle even if the rail matches its drawing.

Grace, the rail is the specified item; supplier says the later pad suffix has a changed backing detail and must not be mixed with the earlier assembly, which makes the shared bag description rather unhelpful

That backing change needs a clear picture in the spare instruction. The person replacing it should not have to repeat your conversation with the supplier to tell the two arrangements apart.

Maintenance found an extra washer under one rail end that isn't on the assembly drawing; they're reviewing the correction with the toolmaker, not fitting a new rail from stock

And include the old pickup edits when they plan the check. This is the point where our bench finding could easily have become a premature declaration that the whole transfer was fixed.

Did the supplier replace the ambiguous bag labels, Louis? That's still a stores problem after the physical repair.
