Our polymer housing sits less square in the gripper during tray-to-fixture transfer. Pickup points keep getting nudged. The tray looks unchanged, but nobody has measured that. What inspection order would let me question these edits with something better than suspicion?

Start with the physical contacts: jaw condition and seating, loose tooling, then tray location against its references. Keep the point-edit history; it may be showing you what people compensated for.
