Another FR5 order, another spare adapter counted as fitted

Separate FR5 order this time, same annoying contents-sheet problem. The spare mounting adapter is missing, and the seller has sent a revised list showing only the adapter already fitted to the tool. Our confirmed order includes an extra one. I've pointed at the line and got next shipment back. How do we stop the revised list becoming the version everyone quotes?

Return the received quantities against the confirmed order. Mark the extra adapter outstanding.

Done. Purchasing attached the seller's own confirmation as well. They now acknowledge the extra adapter, but haven't said whether one is actually available.

Ask available where. A promise from their machinist isn't stock on their shelf.

They say it needs making. So not stock anywhere yet. That is at least clearer than repeatedly telling us it missed a shipment.

Ask for a defined supply proposal with the adapter drawing reference and expected dispatch, then purchasing can compare waiting with another properly identified source

Keep the kit shortage open while they make that proposal.

Is anyone already planning a tool change around that spare?

Rick, it was intended to reduce changeover work, not replace a broken installed adapter. Planning knows it isn't here. We haven't promised a quicker changeover on its strength.

That's worth saying. Missing spare doesn't automatically mean the robot is down.

And the alternate quote needs the same locating details, not just the plate outline, or you may buy another changeover problem instead of the missing adapter

Did they confirm which drawing they will manufacture?

They returned drawing C, which matches our approved adapter. No manufacture date agreed. Local quote is being checked against C too. Thanks, Anika; its first version omitted the locating pieces.

Good catch before ordering. Include those pieces in the outstanding contents line as well if they belong to the agreed spare assembly

Who is choosing between the two supply options?

Preferably somebody comparing complete prices now, not just the quicker-sounding email.

Purchasing owns it, Rick. The local complete-assembly quote is back; the seller still owes a dated proposal. Nothing ordered locally and nothing dispatched by the seller. The missing line stays on our received list.
