The supplier's bench report says the proposed vacuum tool for Universal Robots UR5e seals on a thin coated steel panel. We're planning placing stacked sheet panels in an assembly fixture in a small panel handling station, using thin panels from a stack. I still need to know how our panel stays supported and arrives alone.
A seal doesn't answer those bits for me.
Compare the report's sample with your incoming specification: does it describe full-panel geometry, support conditions and the film used in the actual stack?
@SarahAllen0328 It used a flat sample supported underneath. The report doesn't assess the full panel geometry or say what film condition was represented.
@GraceAllen0320 Give the tooling specialist the complete panel drawing and stack specification, requesting assessment of distributed support alongside a distinct proposal for confirming single-panel pickup.
@GraceAllen0320 A spread of contacts is worth comparing because it can reduce unsupported panel spans. Include the edges whose positions matter during placement on the drawing used for assessment.
@SarahAllen0328 I'd qualify that suggestion: adding contacts doesn't establish a suitable support layout without considering local flexibility, and it doesn't answer whether one layer was acquired.
@AaronCarter0958 Fair correction. I mean a layout assessed against your panel's flexibility, not a cup-count target. Layer confirmation remains its own requirement.
