Researching a robot purchase from China and trying to compare support, not just the box. What would you ask about a fault reported after the supplier's office closes?
I'm not expecting someone to stay awake for me. I want to know whether buying local support actually covers that gap, or just gives me another person waiting for the same answer. No supplier picked yet
Ask what the local person can actually do. Taking a ticket isn't diagnosing it, and diagnosing it isn't authorising a replacement. I'd want those responsibilities written separately.
And who at your end can take that call? Overnight coverage buys little if the only person authorised to help is back tomorrow. I'd price the staffing assumption too.
Thanks, I hadn't included our own availability at all. I'll ask about the first useful response, with someone here able to participate. Still interested in what people choose to leave until morning rather than pay to cover
