I charted our FR5 tray-unloading stoppages and found that every recovery includes a small teaching change. Nobody records which way the spacer block was leaning before the correction.
Yesterday I watched one jaw meet the block before the other. The tray appears seated. Appears is doing some work there. What cheap checks would help maintenance distinguish the tray, fingers and mounting before another point gets nudged?
Maintenance found compacted plastic in one finger recess. They removed it and checked the mounting. The jaw contact looks more even now, though we haven't tried the full tray set.
Three trays behaved; one still presents the block at an angle. So the debris mattered, but it wasn't our entire collection of problems. That tray is set aside for inspection.
Can you relate the historical teaching changes to those tray identities? It may be impossible if they were not recorded, but that would explain why the old trend cannot establish arm drift.
We cannot. The old records say only 'tray changed'. I've added tray identity and the observed symptom to our interruption log. It won't rescue the history, but the next investigation should have less archaeology.
Measure that set-aside tray against a known good one before ordering replacements; the visible lean might come from how the block sits in the pocket rather than the tray outline.
