Are the pockets in the same positions? Matching the outside doesn't tell you that.

Compare the actual locating faces too, because a tray can touch the visible stops while resting on a different underside feature (I've had a moulded rib quietly become the highest point).

I'd leave the locator in the improvement note, because otherwise the next person may remove something useful while chasing the replacement tray's different problem.

Stores can separate them once someone identifies the difference.

Yes Bruno, and stores found the shared container label was only the outside size; they've separated the families and our trainer is adding the tray identity to the job's changeover check.

A different colour can help people spot a mix-up, but I wouldn't make colour the sole identifier if you use it; worn or replaced trays still need a reliable family identification.

Harish, did you get another check with the intended replacement tray? That would let you update the result beyond explaining why the wrong one missed, while keeping the extent of the check clear.

We did: the original tray and two identified replacements completed the supervised comparison without the earlier tray movement or missed pickups, and I have kept their identities with the result rather than saying all trays are sorted.

Did the relief operator use the new changeover check?
