An extra clamp justified by corrected bracket measurements

Another FR10 bracket review has reached planning with extra clamps proposed from accepted measurements taken after straightening. The historical packet identifies the correction but not the original released shape. I am leaving the tooling allowance provisional.

On one old job we found the accepted sheet described a different measurement setup as well as a corrected part, so I would ask how the bracket was supported for each recorded check before comparing the numbers.

The restrained check used the welding fixture. Final acceptance used a separate gauge after correction. No released reading on that gauge before correction has been found.

Does the gauge drawing still exist? I would ask quality who holds it before trying to reconstruct the contacts from photographs.

Quality has gauge revision B. It applies to the old assembly revision C, while the proposal is for E. They are comparing the component and checking requirements.

Who proposed the extra clamps, and have they seen that difference between revisions?

Fixture designer proposed them after receiving the final sheet. They now have the revision comparison and have marked the clamp locations tentative rather than approved.

Then have the current-part assessment distinguish incoming fit, restrained checks and released acceptance; the old gauge may explain the history without being the right basis for the new comparison.

Could the old fabricator still explain what the straightening changed? Not to copy the operation, but to understand which problem the final sheet has concealed.

He remembers adjusting the long flange height. Quality is arranging measurements on current assemblies, with any correction kept as a separate stage. No rate or method assumed from his recollection.

Will you hear back from the current measurements before planning fixes the bench space?
