We had a delivery line count a rebuilt pallet instead of its individual packages. Ask for the package breakdown behind the receipt and compare the marks on your received crate. The master status alone left us guessing.
Does delivered include the FR5 pendant crate we never received?

Receipt says one unit. Seller's packing sheet lists two crates. I have the received arm crate's marks.
-2 pointsOne unit could mean one pallet or one crate; I would have the forwarder explain that entry before treating it as proof of either count. The separate marks should help them search their handling records
15 pointsForwarder says the pallet was rebuilt at a depot. No package breakdown supplied yet.
12 pointsAsk for the depot's rebuild photos. If they have them, the marks could tell you whether the pendant crate was on that pallet when it left.
7 pointsDoes the seller have a photograph or separate crate identifier for the pendant package? I would give the depot something specific to compare rather than relying on a description of the contents.
16 pointsSeller sent its crate identifier and pre-freight photo. Forwarded both to the depot.
3 pointsKeep your own receiving photos with that search too. Ours showed a pallet wrap colour change that helped the forwarder find which handling stage to look at.
6 pointsLeah, did that colour change establish the missing package's location, or just narrow the records search? I would not want Sarah's team to infer custody from wrapping alone
7 pointsOnly narrowed it. They then matched package marks in the depot photographs. We still needed the depot to confirm what it had before anybody booked a delivery.
16 pointsDepot has found a photograph of a separate crate with similar marks. Match not confirmed. Still tracing.
13 pointsSimilar isn't enough. Ask them to read the full identifier and compare dimensions with the packing sheet.
2 pointsWho is handling the search now, Sarah? A named depot contact may save you going through the whole arm-versus-pendant explanation with each reply.
7 pointsOne depot supervisor now. Seller is confirming the identifier against the photo. Installation date stays unconfirmed.
17 pointsOnce they establish that match, ask for the next handover record as well. Finding the right package and arranging its onward movement may involve different people
2 pointsIdentifier confirmed. Depot says the crate is there. I've requested onward transport details.
8 pointsAny collection arranged yet, or only requested?
2 pointsOnly requested. No vehicle booking or delivery slot confirmed. At least the crate has a known location now.
4 pointsPlease post when it arrives and you've checked the contents. Our last surprise was receiving the right outer package with a small accessory still missing inside it.
