I keep a copy of the original Gemini Robotics announcement when discussing proposed robot projects. The question I would put to an integrator is very concrete: which software, which controller interface, and who validates the complete application? Linking research doesn't answer those. How would you word that requirement without turning the enquiry into a twenty-page document?

I'd ask for a named deliverable and an acceptance demonstration on the proposed hardware. Then a separate list of research or future work that isn't included.
