The UR5e price stayed put while my packing estimate grew

My carton-pocket proposal now needs fixtures, guarding and training priced. How do I compare offers with holes left?

I would separate quoted supply from estimated work and unknown work. Same carton range, presentation task and handover scope for each offer. Otherwise the cheapest column may simply contain the most blank cells.

Who's doing the presentation work in the lower offer? A supplier can legitimately leave work to you, but it still takes somebody's time and fixtures. I'd want that visible before asking them to sharpen an arm price.

Our staff, apparently. I'd read customer presentation as us providing samples, not preparing every carton.

That needs clarification before comparison. A one-time sample provision and repeated preparation belong in different parts of the estimate.

Fiona's point can change running cost as well as installation cost. Keep the work frequency beside it. A customer-supplied fixture is not the same exclusion as a person continuously feeding prepared cartons.

Priya, does training cover your actual operators and changeovers, or a single demonstration for whoever attends? I've had to budget another session once we named the evening staff who would use the equipment.

Day attendees only. Supplier confirmed repeated carton preparation is ours too; both were missing from my comparison.

On my estimates I also ask who covers the bench while people train. Paying for a session doesn't make those hours appear out of nowhere.

Added staff cover and a second training session as estimates, with presentation labour separate. Guarding scope still needs assessment.

Do not label that guarding line included until the assessed arrangement and supplying party agree. A provisional allowance can be visible without pretending it is a quote.

Has the ranking changed, Priya? Interested whether the original price gap survived the added work. Even an incomplete comparison should now explain why one total remains less certain than another.
