the doorway gets smaller when we draw the tool

I sat through an FR10 mill-loading presentation where an aluminium blank floated into the pocket with no gripper attached. Asked to see the tool and got told that comes later. The door was missing too. I'd like later to happen before we choose where the base goes.

Request a provisional complete tool assembly and the measured open-door position for the comparison. Identify what is still undecided. A fixture point within reach is not enough to approve the loaded approach.

Toolmaker sent the assembly. It has a side-mounted fitting right where their invisible gripper used to clear the door. We're comparing another approach now. Funny how much easier this was when half of it wasn't drawn.

Check the same assembly on the way out, with the blank held in its intended orientation. Then include the setter's access in the candidate-base review before purchasing treats it as a decision.
