Find the inspection instruction for both checks first. If they used different references, the two results may not describe the same feature in the same way.
the old jig has a correction nobody owns

Clamped check has a sketch. Loose check just says height OK. Or not OK, depending on the sheet.
4 pointsCan the inspector identify the loose-part setup? A photograph of the old checking kit might help them remember which tool they used.
14 pointsAre the retained brackets actually the same revision?
14 pointsTwo revisions. Separated now.
4 pointsFound the checking plate behind another jig. Sent photos to the retired inspector. No lifting party required, thankfully.
17 pointsHas the inspector recognised it?
6 pointsWe once found a stop adjustment belonged to an incoming-part change nobody had told tooling about. Have you compared the component drawings as well as the finished bracket number?
21 pointsWho is meant to explain this correction to the operators once the new cell is built?
9 pointsThat person should join the review. Even if the old correction is abandoned, they'll need to know what the new checks mean and who decides on a failed part.
12 pointsProduction lead. She's joined it. Inspector says the plate was for fit-up, not finished height. Different kit for that, still looking.
16 pointsAny drawing for the extra stop itself?
5 pointsNo. Only the word correction and two pencil arrows. Doesn't even say which direction the adjustment went.
21 pointsThen keep it out of the new fixture specification until its purpose is established. Quality can define the current acceptance check without inheriting those arrows.
7 pointsDone. Current bracket requirements going back to quality and tooling. The copied stop is off the draft.
5 pointsWhat did the component comparison show? Still wondering if the change explains why someone wanted that extra stop.
13 pointsAnd has production got a clear owner for rejected brackets now?
5 pointsKeep the old unknowns in the background notes, so nobody helpfully restores the stop later because the old jig had one.
7 pointsGusset changed, but no proof connecting it to the stop. Quality owns rejection decisions. Both points are on the review sheet; final measurements still pending.
8 pointsI would be interested in those measurements when they arrive. At least the parts and checks now have clear identities.
