I've got an FR5 proposal for exchanging steel blanks in our mill. Reach line ends at the fixture, very nice. No gripper body. No open door. Am I being awkward asking for the actual entry and exit before we pick an arm?
No. Ask for the complete tool in the machine model, including jaw states and the held blank; reaching a fixture point doesn't prove access through the opening.
Revised model arrived. Door handle crosses the proposed entry, and the designer has suggested rotating the wrist. Fine as an idea. Still waiting to see whether the fingers can then reach and release the blank.
That needs the whole movement checked. I mean the proposed rotated approach through release and withdrawal, not just a screenshot where the handle happens to clear.
They've agreed to review it with the toolmaker. Base location is on hold. Took several emails to get from a reach circle to the actual machine, but we're there now.
