Checking an FR5 bracket proposal. Old sheet jumps from clamped alignment to final pass after correction. Designer wants to copy the fixture. I'd like the bit between those ticks explained first.
Ask which current part revision they intend to copy it for. Our bracket review found a changed gusset edge where the old jig located. A proven fixture for an earlier part can be a very polished wrong answer.
Is there a retained bracket from the old job that the inspector can identify? That may help them explain the correction without reconstructing everything from a batch total.
A retained corrected bracket could show what was accepted, but it would not recover the dimensions it had immediately after release. I would keep that limitation explicit
Still worth finding. The missing readings won't appear by staring harder at the spreadsheet. A sample and the former operator could tell you which feature was being corrected.
One tagged sample found, corrected and accepted. Inspector recognises the batch. No pre-correction reading attached. Former operator invited to explain the bench operation.
We once priced an automated job from the final pass count and left the off-sheet finishing person out entirely. Who is carrying the correction labour in your estimate while this is open? Doesn't need a made-up time, but it needs a visible gap.
Nobody. It was zero because the new layout had no correction bench. Planning has changed that to unresolved work, which is less cheerful and more accurate.
Also distinguish correction from inspection when the process is clarified. Eliminating a press operation would not necessarily eliminate the separate dimensional check or all its space
Has engineering identified what changed between C and E, Maya? I'd bring that answer to the same review rather than let the sample's old geometry steer it.
Gusset thickness changed at D, locating edge changed at E. Both marked for tooling review. Still no released measurements from current parts; no copied correction approved.
