Our FR10 tooling supplier sent a clip of an access panel hanging quite happily from the cups, except someone handed it over singly and our job starts with a stack of thin panels; I need to ask about peeling one away and supporting the loose corners before this turns into a demonstration of moving two panels extremely neatly.
Our first sheet trial looked fine until we used stock that had sat stacked. Ask for your supplied stack condition in the trial, including what happens when the next panel follows the first. Who deals with that matters as much as detecting it.
We do have panels clinging together on the manual bench, Felix, so this isn't me inventing a disaster for entertainment; nobody has described how an operator would clear a doubled pickup.
Start by sending them that ordinary stack. And show the underside in the trial. I can't tell from a top view whether a second panel is riding underneath or a corner is drooping toward the tray.
Packing can supply a stack as received, with the interleaves left in; I hadn't mentioned those in the request, which probably wasn't my finest contribution.
Interleaves change the job rather a lot. Are you expecting somebody to remove each one, or is that part of the proposed automation? We ended up keeping that preparation manual on a short-run job.
I missed protective film in a parts list once and spent a meeting discussing the wrong surface. Are your interleaves between every panel, Imran, or only between bundles?
Rosa, every panel; Felix, the operator removes them now and the proposed cycle doesn't show anyone doing it. I've asked for that gap to be priced before more tooling drawings.
I'd compare two simple options first: manual separation into a pickup position, or automated separation including the interleaves. The second is a different amount of work. Don't let it sneak in as a cup change.
Has the supplier come back with either option, or are you still waiting for a stack trial? I'd be interested where the hand-preparation time lands in your comparison.
They've proposed manual preparation into a rack and admitted their original clip doesn't cover our stack; price and rack layout still to come, so no decision yet.
Will the rack support the corners too? The stack problem got most of our attention here, but your original question included how the single panel reaches the nest.
