Small assembly cell: Does the master shipment status cover every crate?

I received the arm crate from our Universal Robots UR5e order with an unnamed seller in China, shipped as consolidated freight. The separate crate assigned to the controller package hasn't reached us. Tracking says delivered, but the receipt's package counts are unclear. I've spent 10 days asking for a trace of that specific crate without getting one. Our setup is beside a small assembly cell.

Check whether the packing list identifies a separate crate for the controller package. Matching its identifier against your receiving records and arrival photographs would narrow the shortage.

It does. I've photographed the arm crate label, and our receiving log has no entry for the other identifier. The receipt only references the master consignment.

@NinaBarnes0588 Ask the agent to reconcile your received inventory with package-level loading and delivery records for the missing identifier. The overall consignment status doesn't answer that individual trace request.

@SamChan1116 Should I start with the local carrier or the freight agent? I don't fancy repeating the whole story to everyone again.

@NinaBarnes0588 Request that the coordinating freight agent manage the trace and collect the local delivery information. Your established local contact can remain involved without leaving you to coordinate every record yourself.

Have the agent obtain the local delivery manifest; it should establish whether the crate identified as missing was delivered to your workshop.

A manifest may describe intended loading without confirming receipt at the workshop. Establishing delivery needs a record of the relevant physical event for that crate.

You're right that I treated the manifest as stronger evidence than it may be. Use it to investigate the planned movement and seek a separate crate-level record of actual handover or delivery.

@SamChan1116 So delivered could mean the big shipment, not every box?

@FelixChan1067 The receipt here refers to the master consignment, so the scope of the delivered status needs clarification. It shouldn't automatically be treated as proof for each individual crate.

@SamChan1116 The agent has confirmed its delivered message is about the overall consignment. It still hasn't supplied a location or scan for our missing identifier.

Use their clarification in your trace request. A status explicitly covering the overall consignment leaves the individual crate question unresolved.

@SamChan1116 On a separate delivery I handled, a pallet count and a crate count got compared as if they were the same thing. Writing the units beside the numbers helped.

@MayaAdams0127 Could that explain our confusing receipt without explaining the missing crate?

@NinaBarnes0588 A unit clarification might resolve the count discrepancy without locating the crate. Ask how the receipt counts packages and continue tracing the missing identifier separately.

Right. I don't want an arithmetic correction becoming a pretend delivery. I'll ask what each count actually counts.

@NinaBarnes0588 Could somebody at your workshop have put it somewhere else?

@FelixChan1067 I've checked our receiving area and storage with the people who handled the delivery. We only have the arm crate; the other identifier isn't on any received label.

The missing crate has reached our workshop. I've checked its identifier and the contents assigned to the controller package, so our crate inventory now matches the packing list.

Your received inventory now reconciles with the packing list, which answers the original missing-crate question.
