Yes. Send packed examples from your normal supply, including the seam and surface differences. An empty pristine box is a very cooperative customer. Ask them to show where every cup lands, not just that a box went up.

3 pointsDon't dismiss the empty test completely. It can expose a bad seal cheaply. It just leaves you with the load, carton strength and intended movement still to assess.

5 pointsThat dodging bit worries me too. Our manual packing leaves labels in slightly different places... nothing dramatic, until you draw a cup right where the nicest sample has a blank patch.
